Jää in Black

The inspiration for the Jää design came from the beautiful and practical nature of recycled plastic* and its environmentally friendly credentials. The Finnish word jää has two meanings; ‘ice’ and ‘please stay’. Therefore a fitting name for a sustainable design - a seat, side table, or console. Through the design and use of materials, we wanted to show that recycled furniture can be both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Made in Britain with a mixture of polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) plastic with small aluminium and steel parts, the Jää is fully recyclable. The PE and PP plastic shapes are 100% recycled post-consumer plastic which is pure waste that has been diverted from landfills. The end result is a heavy bench full of waste.

Jää is a multifunctional and adaptable design suitable for both indoor and outdoor in public and private spaces. Handmade in UK.
